Dodital Darwa Pass Trek

A classic Himalayan trek with awe-inspiring views of the Gangotri and Swargrohini ranges of Uttarakhand Himalayas. This walk takes you through idyllic himalayan villages, forests and expansive grasslands of the Assi Ganga. DODITAL DARWA PASS TREK VIDEO
Day 1: Fly to Dehradun and Drive to Uttarkashi (1450m)
Arrive at Dehradun airport (Jolly Grant) in the morning. Our taxi will drive you to Kuflon Basics near Uttarkashi, via Dehradun and Mussoorie (Approx 5-6 hours). The property is a basic yet beautiful resort tucked away in the forest. Overnight in the resort.

Day 2: Trek to Bebra (2200m)
Distance: 8km
Total Ascent & Descent: 992m and 462m
Short and beautiful drive to Sangam Chatti (20 min) on the banks of the Assi Ganga river from where we start our trek to the village of Agoda. The walk goes through beautiful terraced fields and a deciduous forest. Agoda is a remote Himalayan village and Bebra, our campsite, is 2 km further in a forest-clearing, near a clear stream. Overnight in tents.
Day 3: Trek to Dodital (3100 meters)
Distance: 15 km
Total Ascent & Descent: 1443m and 565m
Today we will trek to Dodital, a beautiful lake at 3000 meters. The trail, carpeted by fallen leaves, goes through thick forests of oak and deodar. We will go through Manjhi, a summer settlement of the people from Agoda, who come to graze the high-altitude grasslands (bugyals in local language) in the summer season. Dodital itself is nestled in-between a beautiful backdrop of thick-green forest-covered slopes and is teeming with brown and golden trout fish.

Day 4: Trek to Darwa pass (3900m) and back. Overnight at Dodital.
Distance: 10 km
Total Ascent & Descent: 948m

The trail takes you alongside many streams that feed the Dodital and climbs steadily to Darwa pass. Panoramic views of the great himalayan range open up from here, especially the striking Banderpoonch (Monkey Tail), Swargorihini and Kala Nag (Black Serpent Peak). Later we descend to Dodital for a second night at Lake Dodital.

Day 5: Trek to Agoda. Drive to Kuflon Basics. (90 min drive).
Distance: 16Km
Total Ascent & Descent: 602m, 1632m

Today we descend all the way back to Agoda village, slightly ahead of Bebra campsite. The village, until last year was not connected by road and required a 2 hour trek to reach from Sangamchatti. With the new road attitudes and fortunes of the village will certainly change. We will be some of the outsiders to witness this transition, albeit briefly. From Agoda village we take a 90 min jeep to Kuflon Basics. Overnight at the homestay.

Day 6: Drive to Dehradun. Flight to Delhi.
With an early departure, arrive at Dehradun airport by late afternoon to return to you onward destination by evening.
